Tasty Honey Oat Bread Recipe

  


Ingredients

- 1 cup rolled oats

- 1 1/4 cups boiling water

- 1/4 cup honey

- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 2 tablespoons melted butter

 

Instructions

1. In a bowl, combine rolled oats, boiling water, and honey. Let it sit for 20 minutes.

2. Sprinkle yeast over the oat mixture and let it sit for 5 minutes.

3. Add all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, and salt. Mix well.

4. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size.

5. Punch down the dough, shape into a loaf, and place in a greased loaf pan. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.

6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with melted butter.
