Tasty Homemade Red Velvet Cake Recipe



Ingredients

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

- 1 teaspoon baking powder

- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil

- 1 cup buttermilk, room temperature

- 2 large eggs, room temperature

- 2 tablespoons red food coloring

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1 teaspoon white vinegar

- Cream cheese frosting


 Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.

3. In another bowl, combine oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, vanilla extract, and vinegar.

4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

6. Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from the pans and cool completely on a wire rack. Frost with cream cheese frosting.
